My assesment of “quality” is subjective and possibly flawed since I’m not a textile expert or anything 🙂 And I obviously haven’t looked at every single dress each brand has to offer…Given that, for the ones that I’ve seen, based on the look (beading, embellishment, details etc) and the feel (how the fabric feel to the touch), I would say superior to David’s Bridal and inferior to Maggie Sottero.

I went two weeks ago and the quality of their regular dresses was pretty poor. They have a couple of luxe lines that were of better quality but not up to par for their price. Hope that helps!

i lurved the alfred angelo the maggies just didn’t do it for me, although the fabric was exquisite, i think the style of dress just wasn’t what i was looking for (too much beading and the corset didn’t squeeze me in like i have read that it was supposed to).  in the end my mom honestly couldn’t tell the difference in the quality, they had an alfred angelo there that i tried on as well and she was like well i don’t know about that one versus the other and she really disliked corset backs)…

I personally was not a huge fan of the fabrics from davids bridal and alfred angelo.  I, just like any girl, was trying to find the dress and would love a bargain if possible.  Unfortunatly at both davids and alfred angelo, the only dresses that I liked the quality/style were the “designer” $1500+.  Not exactly cheap for an off the rack dress.  I ended up getting a gorgeous brand new 2be (Mon Cheri) dress from a trunk show at a local bridal salon.  $1000.  Not so bad and there is no comparison in fabric/quality.

Although this is just my opinion.  I know many brides that raves both of these stores.  Good Luck with your dress shopping.  It is a really exciting time.  🙂

My dress is Alfred Angelo, it is from Sapphire Collection and i really like the quality of the dress. I think the material feels nice and it feels comfortable. I think they are good quality.  I don’t think you should base your decision on the “brand”. Each brand will have some dresses that are great and some that are not so great! Look for the dress that makes you feel GREAT!

My best friend wore an Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dress and said it was perfectly admirable quality. That’s pretty much what I would have assumed from seeing their dresses online – good quality, but not like super high fashion or anything.

My bridesmaids are wearing AA dresses in satin and I think they are pretty nice!  Nothing that’s going to cruise the catwalks in Paris but I think they’re just about the same as something you’d get off the rack in a nice department store.  I can’t comment about the bridal gowns because I don’t remember seeing any in my search.

Good luck!

Well, I worked at AA’s as a consultant, and I’ll be totally honest here: If I were getting married again and had to get a gown there, I would only look at the Piccione or Saphire lines. Those lines have better fabrics and are better made. The AA line is nice, but their gowns are fairly non-original, not lined, and made of cheaper man made materials.

Hmm, but then again, I don’t recommend Maggie either, but a lot of women do!

I guess, to each her own!! 🙂 Go with your gut!

My dress is an Alfred Angelo and is from thier “R” line, which is an exclusive line.  It’s beautiful but I have to admit that I wish it was made a better material (silk would be a dress).  I wanted a full dress but I needed a low price tag.  I found that David’s was very low quality and the lines in the boutiques in my area were way too expensive.

With Alfred Angelo, I was able to get a better quality at a good price.  My dress actually is the exact same as Maggie’s Chantilly for $300 less.

My dress is Alfred Angelo 2003W, and I love it. I was not impressed with David’s Bridal, and I wore a bridesmaid dress from AA last year and it was beautiful, and well done. For the price, I’m getting the best quality I can afford without upping my dress budget.

Like Champagne Wishes, my dress is from the R line too – we actually have the same dress! I was at David’s right before Alfred and I feel that the quality at Alfred was lightyears better. The david’s I went to – all of the dresses had makeup stains and they just seemed… cheap. That sounds so rude, and not to put down anyone that bought their dress from there – but all of the ones I tried on were just flimsy seeming. My Alfred dress feels very sturdy and well made! I tried on Maggies too, and I feel like the quality of my Alfred was comprable to Maggie!

@SweetheartDealer i will have to agree with you on somethings you said, i felt like a princess in AA dress, i just did not find one i liked, or better say that felt right among Maggie or DB dresses!
