I have used the iphoto books in the past, you can publish them to be ‘coffee table’ size and they have really nice quality paper. I haven’t used the shutter fly ones to have anything to compare them to though.

Adoramapix. We used shutterfly for our guest book and it was ok. But we used Adoramapix for both parent albums, and they turned out great!

Agree with @hisgoosiegirl:. I used Adoramapix for both parents photo albums and they’re stunning!  Have gotten so many compliments from people!  Not only are they great quality, but I loved the template for creating the books.

I would say the only con was that the max # of pages is 72 and I was trying to create the “whole day” in the album, so I wasn’t able to use all the pictures I wanted to (though, after I got the albums, I realized I could have used more because I used larger album pages, but it looked so tiny on the comp. screen.  Oh well)

I third Adoramapix.  We used them for our album, our parents’ albums and our honeymoon album and have loved each of them.  The pages are printed on photo paper, so they’re nice and thick (about the same as 2 lab printed pictures back to back).  If you sign up for their mailing list you’ll get emails when they have sales – I think we’ve gotten up to 35% off on some of them.  FYI, we’ve gotten the photo covers and the leather cover, and both are lovely (the photo is much more flexible – layout wise).

Adoramapix isn’t pro quality but pretty decent as they actually use real photo paper.  If you want something higher quality, similar to what your photographer would offer, check out somerset.

I’ve used My Publisher and I really liked them. I like that they have so many options and you can make them as expensive or as cheap as you can handle! Plus they have deals in which you can buy one and get one free!

I’ve heard MPix is the best possible place for prints. I’ve never heard anyone rave about their albums specifically, but I’d think all their stuff would be pro quality.

I used Adoramapix for our parents’ books & plan to order our album and prints from them as well. I was super pleased with thier quality & the ‘lay flat’ pages. Not to mention I found making them a blast as thier software is very easy to use.
