n is the principle quantum number

l is the angular momentum and corresponds to an orbital shape, can be found by using (n-1)

m is the magnetic quantum number. m tends to be a list of numbers and is based on what you get for l. Basically you put a negative sign infront of your l value and then list the whole numbers up to the positive value for l.

For example, if your l value is 4, then your m values are -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4

the s is the electron spin number and always either -1/2 or 1/2 (spin down or up). It is independant of the other variables.

Hope that helps!
