@Lemma:  I’m no expert but I have done the shred. I never did it straight through. I feel like that isn’t good for you muscles. They definitely need some time to heal and strengthen. You should probably use the 3 lb weights and the soreness should get better over time

You need to let your muscles heal.  Working the same ones day after day isn’t good for them and can cause injury.  Since the Shred is an overall exercise, I wouldn’t recommend it multiple days in a row.

I would follow her advice and push on – she is a pretty good trainer.  And 5 pound weights are still relatively light – you are not strength training at that weight, you are working on endurance.  Soreness is good. It means your body is changing.  Keep pushing.

@Lemma:  i’ve read that too, & i see the point of it, but if you’re looking for great results, you push through it for the 30 days. i did it in jan 2010 the full 30 day no breaks & lost my first 10lbs. just make sure you have protein, you’re stretching more than just the cool down, & icy hot helped me. it went away within like 2 more days.

    it gets better, trust me!

plus, i find that ‘taking breaks’ kind of leads not more breaks & longer breaks.

so then ‘taking a break’ becomes an excuse!

@Lemma:  it ISN’T. you’re doing 9 mins total of it. it’d be different if the whole work out was strength training.

That happens to me too when I do her work outs. I just do the work out without any weights and follow the “easy” girl to give myself some sort of a break.

Push through. Once your muscles loosen up during the exercise you’ll feel better. Always push through! 🙂

Push through. Eat bananas, drink lots of water, and STRETCH! Like every chance you get stretch.
