I like you can take up to 100mg of B6 a day. I’m pretty sure that’s what I take. Your prenatals probably have some in them, but it’ll be a very small amount. I wouldn’t take 100mg of B6 in addition to a B-complex or anything like that though. I’ve been taking B6 for several months now (four? five?) in an attempt to lengthen my LP (it’s 11-12 days, but I start spotting on 9DPO), and it hasn’t done anything for me. Some women seem to have luck with it, and others don’t.

@diplomatswife:  Anything greater than 100 mg can cause birth defects ( http://www.livestrong.com/article/492923-will-too-much-vitamin-b-6-cause-birth-defects/ ) so if there is B6 in your prenatal I would try to get the 50 mg tablets/capsules. Even in a B complex it’s only like 2-6 mg. I recommend the 50 mg tablet + a B complex with a small amount of B6 + a prenatal, because the B vitamins in the B complex help the B6 to absorb, plus you will be way under the 100 mg recommendation.

@diplomatswife:  Oh I see. If that’s the case, I say take the 100 mg until they are gone…But consider adding a B complex to help absorption! =) But truly, B6 is all you need to treat the short LP. GL! Hope it works for you!

I have a short luteal phase (11 days) so am taking 100mgs of B6 this month. I will report back in a few weeks and let you know if it worked to extend it 🙂

I have a short LP too, been taking B6 for a month now. I had a 7-8 day LP and this past month is was 9. Any progress is good progress!

ETA: I am also taking a multi-B vitamin and regular women’s every day vitamins.
