I am trying to finalize the music for our Catholic ceremony and I am a bit confused! When do people usually give the “gift” to St. Mary?
Can it be done any time we want? I think I have seen it done after the signing of the marriage documents but I am not sure.

@HollyE85: We did it after communion at our wedding. Our church said that was the normal time.

I have seen it right after the rings and unity candle.

Can you check with the music director or whoever you met with to choose music? They’ll have the best answer about how they plan to do it.

I did it after communion too.

I think its traditionally right after communion, and that makes the most sense to me. You can go do it while the priest is cleaning the chalices etc from communion. That way it doesn’t add much more time to an already long ceremony (especially since its just you guys praying in front of the statue and isn’t really anything for your guests to participate in).

There are a few different points in the liturgy when you can do it, but having it as a post-Communion meditation is probably the best option for logistical reasons (as already cited by previous posters).
