If I have 100 guests RSVP then how many chairs should I have for the ceremony? We have a small space so there will be four/five chairs on each side. I keep thinking that I need more because of guests maybe not choosing to sit where there is only one chair available because they want to sit with people or groups. We are not having ushers.

I would probably have 110ish. The good thing (or maybe bad thing) about having loose chairs, is that if people need one more chair for their group of 3, they could always grab an empty chair from another row. I don’t think I would have more than 10 extras though because I wouldnt want my pictures looking too empty or pay for more chairs than I need.

Don’t forget you don’t need to count chairs for any one (i.e. bridal party) that will be standing through the whole ceremony.

We were short on space (outdoor wedding, but HOT sunny day, so we needed everyone to fit under our canopy so they’d be shaded). We had exactly the number of chairs as we had number of guests, and it worked just fine.
