I am a bridesmaid and have volunteered to be in charge of figuring out what shoes the maids will wear. The bride is totally open to whatever colour/style her maids want.
The colour of shoes we have decided on is purple, finding the right shade of purple to match our dark eggplant dresses is… close to impossible.
My mother told me that bridal salons (at least use to) dye white shoes. Is that still true? Are there any places that dye shoes?
Thank you very much!
PS. (Our back up plan is black shoes, which are easier to find so no dyeing required for those.)

Yup…places still dye shoes.
Have you checked out Nina shoes? They come in a very wide variety of colors/styles…you might be able to find a match or something complimentary without having to resort to dying.

Yes places still dye shoes but I pesonally wouldn’t recommend it. If dyed shoes get wet (spilled drink, damp grass, sudden rainstorm, etc) they’ll get ruined because the color will run and get splotchy. Plus, they still aren’t likely to be able to perfectly match your dresses.
I’ll second the recommendation for Nina shoes – they have a ton of color options and some really cute styles. If not, I’d go with the black shoes (or a silver or gold would look really nice with dark eggplant too!)
