Generally you have it in the days leading up to and the day of ovulation.  Then you begin “drying up.’  However, I actually have ewcm most of the time.  No infection, just how my body works.  So for me, cm is not a great marker.  Temperature is better for me.

I don’t know when I ovulate but I should know this month when I use OPK.

My doctor told me that EWCM is the best time TTC.  I assumed that mean EWCM means I’m fertile. I told her that I was charting and she said not to worry about charting and just to look for EWCM.

The book I got ‘What to expect before your expecting’ is a very interesting read.  It told me how to check CM.  I learned the CM is different from the lubrication you see when you are aroused.

Oh, I do dry up after ovulation.

I have it the exact days of my ovulation, and 1 or 2 days leading to my period.

Apparently you are most fertile on your last day of EWCM, which is usually the day you ovulate. Usually I have EWCM for 2 days before I ovulate.

I second what beekiss said.  The says before and up to ovulation.

Usually, I dry up after ovulation. This month seems different from previous ones. I got my positive OPKs on the usual CD10-11 and we BD’ed around it. I’m now 2 DPO or more, I don’t chart very well, so leaving it up to chance again. Right now, I still have lots of CM. I don’t know if that I’m drinking green tea during the TWW or what, but I have way more than normal.

Its funny when I was on birth control I had it more frequently, now it seems to be just leading up to ovulation, but I’ve only been off BC for a few months so that may change

I never had EWCM in any of my TTC months, even my one “normal” cycle where I managed to conceive!

I get it right before and then sometimes about a week after.  I read that there is a secondary estrogen surge about a week after O which causes more sometimes.

I never had any EWCM after coming off BCP after 10 years (I have been off for 12 months).  I know what to look for becasue I had tons (tmi) before I went on BCP (probably becasue I was very young then).  But, I managed to conceive without it since I just got my BFP.  I talked to my doc about it and she said not to worry about EWCM as long as you have regular periods and getting positive OPKs.

I actually get EWCM about 5-7 days before I ovulate (confirmed by charting).
