I really want to do a candy bar at my wedding reception. If I do it, I’d like to do it well (meaning big, with a lot of variety and quality candy, personalized candy bags for guests). Can the candy bar count as favors for guests? Or do people usually do the candy bar plus favors?
Any suggestions on how to make it more of a “favor”?
Thanks bees 🙂

If you want to make it more favor-y, put a little note, poem, or message on it with ribbon in your wedding colors. Or play around with the “presentation.”
I will say, though, that I think favors are kind of pointless. I might even skip them. 🙂 (Who ever cares about the favor anyway?)

So im doing a candy bar and using it as my favor. To add a little something im adding a LIFE chip and a fake diamond “dentist ring” to the candy bag. My fiance proposed christmas morning by taping a dentist ring to the STOP GET MARRIED marker on my Game of Life, its my favorite game from childhood. He then wrapped it all up and i opened it christmas morning! When i opened i was shocked and looked up to him on his knee with my actualy ring…..ANYWAYS…why not add a fun eliment to the candy bag?? Like a magnet of a picture and your wedding date??? Or your favorite sports team colors key chain with your wedding date??

@princessamy: What on earth is a dentist ring??
@OP: I think a candy bar is a huge favor for the guests. It’s definitely above and beyond!

@crayfish: when we were dating he used to joke that cuz we were young and poor he would propose with a ring you get from the dentsit when you get your teeth cleaned as a kid 🙂

Oh defintiely do candy bars! Just write a message on it or something. I want to give candy or something edible as my favors. 🙂

one of the weddings i went to had a candy bar, and what was neat was our placecards were actually little boxes that we could bring home the candy in! it was very creative and not as direct as saying the candy bar is considered the favors. i’d suggest maybe have the dj announce that the favor baggies or your placecard holder/box things are for ppl to hold the candy in or something. However, it was already quite apparant at the wedding i went to so there wasn’t even need for an announcement.

I went to a wedding where the candy bar was a favor and it was really fun. They didn’t put the candy out until the end, and they had little bags for everyone to fill up. We saw the candy bar on the way out, filled a bag, and left, so it was very obvious that it was our favor.
