we have neighbors across the street that have been burning things lately that should not be burned (smells like plastic, rubber and a lot like chemicals) and the other neighbors ( we live in a townhouse across the street) have also mentioned how bothersome it has been. I want to file a formal complaint with the city, i just don’t know do i go to the fire station or the city offices? It is my first time doing something like this and i just want to make sure i go about it the right way.
Thanks In Advance

I would call your police or fire department, not 911, their non-emergency line and tell them the situation and ask what you should do. If they’re burning things, they might need a permit, and the fire department might issue those. Even if the police or fire aren’t the right place, the should be able to tell you where to go next. Good luck, I hope it gets resolved soon!

thanks I wasnt gonna call 911 but i was thinking in going into the fire station which i do know thats where you get burn permits.
I really hope it gets resolved soon too because it smells really bad not to mention that im sure its not healthy for us all to be breating or for the teenagers who are sitting around this “bon fire”
Fiance took a drive down the street that goes behind their house and he said that the flames were bright green and blue, so that is just telling me that they are burning something that they shouldnt be

So, definitely call sooner than later. This is going to sound insane, but could they be “cooking” drugs? Plastic and chemical smells, idk…

Call 311 and they will be able to direct you on what to do. That’s the non emergency police line

Also you may want to make sure the fire is “going” at the time… when you call… so they can have the evidence there to investigate with.

@Mrs.LemonDrop: I dont think that they are cooking drugs, but honestly who knows. The family is really shady, and the cops are there almost once a week for one reason or another. I know that someone had called on them a few times because the husband (?) was yelling and throwing stuff at the wife (?) in the front yard.
I plan on calling the 311 # tonight if they have a fire going, which they most likely will.
thanks everyone for the input
