I thought the Affordable Care Act prevents insurers from denying you coverage for a pre-existing condition?

Pregnancy should no longer be considered a pre-existing condition so you should be covered on his new plan.  The 90 days without insurance may be a bit of an issue but you should go to your doctor ASAP and let them know the timeline so they can schedule the 10-12 week testing before you move.
