Margarittaville is a must for me if I go somewhere that there is one! I love Jimmy Buffett, but I also really like the food there. The restaurant itself is just so fun, and the margaritas are pretty good!!

I’ve never been to Jamaica but every time we go to Vegas we hit up the Margaritaville there first.  Its just a fun place with always something going on and good food and drinks 🙂

@clemster: Where in Jamaica are you going? Personally I would rather go to a local place than Margaritaville. You can go to Margaritaville in so many places (FLA, Vegas, Mexico, etc) that I would pass on your honeymoon and spend your money on something more unique!

We went to Margaritaville in Mexico – it was really fun, basically a crazy, drunken, rouwdy bar.

Wasted away again in Margaritaville, Searchin’ for my lost shaker of salt. SALT SALT SALT!

im a huge JB fan – sorry had to throw that in there

Which part of jamaica? i go to every margaritaville i can – i’ve been to the one in vegas, cozumel, charleston, key west, myrtle beach and now jamaica!

what part of jamaica are you going to? we stayed at couples swept away in negril and went to the margaritaville there – i would highly recommend it – its unlike any margaritaville i’ve been to before- its right on the beach and they have tables on the shore so you can eat there. they had guys throwing fire and an awesome DJ – it gets pretty roudy but its tons of fun! totally worth the trip i think

here is a pic!

haha had to throw that one in there

I have been to the one in Vegas, eh it was okay. I see nothing to exciting about Margaritaville. Just another themed restaurant

@PitBulLover: I’m with you. I’d rather go to local places. Do some research on websites like Chowhound before you go and get  recommendations from local people.

Sorry for being a “debbie downer” but I don’t think it is worth it. I’ve been to the Margaritaville in Montego Bay, Jamaica last year and needless to say we were not impressed! It is in a kind of sketchy part of downtown MB and the waterslide was rusted and closed and the place kind of was too. The view of the ocean were gorgeous, but I would suggest going somewhere else local like @PitBulLover suggests. We went during the day, so that may be why we were one of the only people there.

@clemster: You will probably be fine then if people recommend the Maragaritaville in Ochos Rios. Have fun!

I’ve only been to the one in Myrtle Beach, we go to Margaritaville everytime we’re there.  I’ve only been during the day so I can not speak for what it may be in the evenings when all the drinkers are out….we really like it, they have great Margaritas, good food, good music….They always have a few stilt walkers walking around making balloon animals for the kids.  When the song “Margaritaville” is played, everyone in the restaurant sings along…  It’s fun.  I think if you have time, you should try it.
