A while back I posted up my prototypes for my centerpieces and you guys were super awesome and loved them…but now I am rethinking the damask bands on the tea lights…what do you guys think? Should I take them off?

Im such a noobie!! What is a damask band? lol If you are talking about whatever detail there is on the tea lights, I wouldnt use them. Its almost too much and simplicity looks stunning!

LOL yeah I am talking about the black and white band around the candles…they have our names printed in the middle. I do think they are too much, I am just kinda aggrivated because it took us soooo long to put them on lol, but now I am not so sure I like them

The centerpieces look amazing! However, I wouldn’t use the bands eithers.

I’m not madly in love with the bands – but wow I think your curved vases are just awesome. Looks beautiful.

I kind of think they need something to minimize the height difference between the tall vase with the flowers and the short tea lights. maybe just one or two per table but I think it would really help the overall look.

I think either way is beautiful. Sorry that’s no help, but it’s what I think.

i’m in the ditch the band camp, it takes away from the gorgeous tall vase. once you have candles lit in them i don’t think they’ll look so plain to you. i’ve been there with the ‘this took too much time, i can’t just take it all off’ moment, but it was worth it for me to like everything on the tables. if you have the time, make it what you want.

Ditch camp here too! For me, it’s all about the light and the feel of the centerpiece. Imho the band around the tealights prohibits that beautiful light from shining through and into the tall cylinder with the orchids/flowers.

I think if you want more fun – keep them on. If you want classy – take them off.

Take it off!!! I mean the damask band. I like the look of the main centerpiece. The candles add a nice touch.

These are so pretty. Question: are you using real flowers? (I experimented using silk and they bled into the water, so that’s why I’m wondering). Oh, but to stay on topic, I vote to remove the bands. 🙂

The bands seem too “extra”. It’s almost as if guests will over look them and just see the extravagent vase with orchids in the center. If you really like the damask pattern, perhaps you can try using a damask table runner on your table. But definitely take the bands off and just use plain votive candles.
