The new stone seems clearer and brighter than your old one. I much prefer the new ring to the old ring!

Agreed.  The new one looks much nicer to me, at least in those pictures.

At this blurred resolution, the new and old look very similar to me. All I can see is the general stone shape and size and it appears the same and is a good size. The old one looks a bit cloudy but it could just be the photos.

However, I have never, ever seen a case where improving clarity and cut didn’t improve the look of a diamond in real life. I really have a hard time imagining it possibly making it look worse!

What don’t you like about the way your new one appears?

@JRose6714:  Oh, I see, yes. The older one is rectangular with the long part east-west. I think you are just used to the old look and need an adjustment period. From fresh eyes looking at both, your new stone shape is nicer to me.

I would give it a little while to become familiar, and then see if your feelings about it don’t change… I think they will. 🙂 But if you still don’t like it even after some time has passed… get back your old one. Who cares if everyone else loves it if you don’t? the person’s opinion whose matters most on its appearance is yours!

Without even reading the post, I could tell that the new one was clearer and more square. The old one looks cloudier and longer horizontally. At first, I thought the old one was on the left, so I was confused.
