I see that there’s a new generation of Bee bloggers coming up and I’m wondering, who here is reading the front page? How many generations have you followed? What keeps you interested?
I’ll be honest, endangered will be the fourth (I think, maybe fifth?) generation of Bees I’ve been around for and while the posts seem good and the brides have just as much to say as those before them . . . I can’t handle reading through venue options and the dress hunt and family drama and how they asked their bridesmaids to participate all over again. While ever wedding is different, after four generations, they’re also all kinda the same, no?
I fully support the bloggers and they will be the first blogs read by some of the newbees who join WB every day but for us who’ve been here a minute . . . are we getting anything from it?

I used to read them when I first joined WB, but I wasn’t planning a wedding at the time so my interest kind of fizzled out.
ETA: I would get back into them now that I am planning, but I don’t need to waste any more time on WB than I already do!

@daybyday: i dont usually read them unless something interesting/cool cathes my eye. i usually just go to the boards.

I paid attention to the two generations that were actively blogging while I was planning and right after I got married because I wanted to see how their weddings turned out. I still check the front page every once in awhile because I admit, I love the recap posts. I do tend to skip the planning posts, but I’m a sucker for beautiful, happy wedding photos!

I have been following two with interest, but they haven’t posted and I am assuming they are waiting for their wedding pictures to come in to start recaps.
I also am following bees who aren’t wedding bee bloggers around the site just because after hearing their ideas I really want to see what their weddings look like and I been happy a lot of them have done recaps.
I also read some old bee bloggers from beginning to end. I think a lot of new people will follow each generation.

I am excited for this generation to start (Endangered Species) because I didn’t know there were “generations”! Now that I know, I am going to folllow these until the end! I love the DYI sections of the bloggers. Some are really cool ideas that I will incorporate into my own wedding and I wonder if I should give credit to the bee who inspired the idea?

@TwoCityBride: Interesting! I have my favorite board bees too. 🙂
Post # 9
I do read the blogs, but I will admit that some posts are getting repetitive. I’ll usually just skim through those ones. I am, however, eagerly awaiting some recaps from some bees that have recently tied the knot!

@MissBoPeepexactly. Used to read them a little but not anymore. I too do not need another excuse to spend time on WB
Post # 11
I’ve never read them. I come here for the boards, I got to blogspot for wedding blogs. =)
I used to read them, but after investing my time into reading so many bloggers planning processes that neglected to write recaps in the end, I tend to just ignore the front page.
I know that sounds silly, but dang it, if I’m following your planning journey, I want to find out how it all comes together in the end!

I get “attached” to certain bloggers and some I just don’t. I don’t know why. So the ones that catch me I will follow up til the end. I will always read cake posts and dress posts. I don’t care who wrote them lol. I also read all of the intro posts and the how he proposed posts. But there are certain things that just dont grab me. Oh and while I know its part of the “fun” I absolutely hate when a post about one decision is dragged on and on for like 4 posts. It kills me! and when I see someone do it it will turn me off from reading their posts from then on lol. I hold a grudge!

There were several bees that I followed when I was planning my wedding. But now I don’t read anymore. I really wish there was an easy way to just see their names at the top of the page and click on them.

@stardustintheeyes: I knowwwwww. That drives me nuts too.

I love the blogs – they’re what got me excited about WB in the first place. Other blogs around the interwebs seem to have such unobtainable weddings that I really appreciate the realness of the blogging bees. But I guess I’m still a little bit of a noob, so maybe my tune will change in a year.
