We are in the process of looking at engagment rings. I am going with a nondiamond center stone. I found these settings on etsy and love them. I’ve heard that diamonds that are set around the ring are more likely to fall out but I’m not sure which setting this happens in. Any insight would be much appreciated. I want to be able to wear it without fear. Love to hear feedback. Thank you!

Typically, if diamonds are pave set, you have to be most concerned about them falling out. It doesn’t look like any of those setting have pave-set diamonds, but I’m not 100% sure. Anyway, if you have insurance on your ring and/or it is under warranty, then even if some diamonds fall out, you should be able to get them replaced for free.

As long as you bring your ring to get checked every 6 months they will fix anything loose before it can fall out!

Are those from mastergold craft? I loooove their stuff! I don’t *think* you would be in danger od having any of those side stone fall out easily because they have prongs and a slight bezel edge… But I’ve never had a ring with pave so I’m not 100% sure

It looks like you have pave, bevel, channel, and tension settings among those rings! Any preferences on style?
I have a ring with a pave diamond band and had to get one of the diamonds replaced. After having it resized twice the setting got loose enough for one of the stones to pop out (they’re tiny diamonds with teensy prongs holding them in).
I know that resizing rings can weaken the setting, and having a pave band isn’t the safest to begin with. All the same, I wouldn’t worry about it. As long as the person making the ring does a good job, it won’t make much of a difference what setting it’s in. With bevel setting it’s highly unlikely to lose stones, and from what I know about tension/channel they’re very secure too.

Thank you for your all replies.
Yes I found them on Mastergoldcraft. I love their rings and prices =)
I really can’t say I have a preference over the settings, I like them all. I do like the first one just because it’s more vintage looking to me.
He states he doesn’t set the stones till after the ring is sized.
