I just realized that I am due to get my period ont he 2nd day of my honeymoon. I DO NOT want this!!My wedding is June 23rd so I don’t have much time to like work on moving my period up a week or something.
I am due to finish the pack I’m on now tomorrow, and I’ll get my period Wednesday. Should I test it out now and start my new pack on Sunday, and will that make my period not come this month? and then I would do the same thing again right before my wedding…as soon as I finished that pack I just start a new pack right again? Is that the correct way to do it? Or is there something else?
Also, will I feel totally bloated/weird during this!?

Finish your pack tomorrow, and start a new one the very next day. It will throw period off.. make it come a week earlier. I’ve done it several times & never had a problem.

Other option would be to get your period now as usual, and then do your next two packs back to back so you miss your next one all together. You might end up with a little breakthrough bleeding, but I’ve done it before and not had too much problem.

I’d talk to a doc/gyno for the best answer, they’ll know more about the hormones and the potential side effects. 🙂

I would do it now so you don’t have breakthrough bleeding next month. I’ve had breakthrough from doing this as bad as a period before.

Yeah definitely start the next pack now! 🙂

Wait. What BC are you on? Skipping to the next pack only really works on a monophasic. If you’re on one where you have different color pills every week, don’t do that!

@sweetpea87: I’ve done it and I take the pills that are different colors each wk & have never had a problem. No break through bleeding, or odd periods the following month.. No weird cramps or anything. It’s just like my period just decided to not come that month..

@X0JLYNN03: Really? Most of the stories I’ve heard of girls on triphasic that do that, they end up having some kind of crappy 2 week long period and feel awful.
Good part is she can try it a month early, so OP if you are on triphasic and wanna try skipping it, try it now so if anything goes wrong, it won’t be near your wedding.

I used to mess up my periods all the time. Nothing ever happened. I just did it the week after.

If you do it too often, you may have breakthrough bleeding, but once or twice won’t be a big deal.

It all depends on your body but the triphasic does have more of a risk of breakthrough bleeding. If your pills are all one color (monophasic) then it probably won’t be as bad. Begin taking your next pack when your current pill pack is done. You can even take the next month right after that one is done to skip two periods. I used to do it so I would only have 4 periods a year and it was great. You may feel a little bloating, but some Pamprin or Midol around that time will help with the symptoms.

@sweetpea87: I must be 1 of the lucky ones! I’ve never had any issues.. I’ve done it a couple times, not more than once a year..

Just start another pack the next day and you’re gravy.
I have done this and never had any issues. Maybe you will have slight spotting but thats nothing in comparison to the real thing.

The same thing will be happening to me and I spoke to my doctor about it at my last appointment just a week ago. She told me to simply skip my non-active pills and go straight into my next pack and I shouldn’t have a problem. I’m on a monophasic pill- all one color except the non-active pills.
