- Wedding: August 2010
I never lay out in the sun b/c while I’m caucasian my skin is on the darker side, and I’m scared of the sun’s rays and cancer and all that. But a little tan, when it happens, looks very nice on me and a lot better than the way my skin usually looks. I DO NOT want to use one of those fake tanning lotions.
But just this once I want to, tomorrow (Monday)– so I can have a nice tan for my wedding Saturday (five days later). Typically if I ever get burned it’s only a teeny bit on my nose and cheeks, which most of the time goes away the next day.
B/c I don’t go tan, we’ve got SPF’s of like 60 and 70. I don’t want to go out and buy lower SPFs, for just this one time of laying out on the beach.
However, I do have my ROC facial everyday moisturizer which is SPF 30, and it says “UVA/UVB sunscreen.”
Would it be ok/safe for me to just this once use only that to replace sunscreen? I only plan to stay at the beach, not necessarily lying down, for one to two hours tops. I don’t know though if it’s safe to use that instead of regular sunscreen. But then again, this is the one time.
If it helps, I’m in NY (for rays).
