Question for Bees Who Lift

I wear it around my neck, but at the gym. Once I’m finished lifting, it’s back on my finger. I will say I only do that on my “pull” days. On push days or leg days, I keep it on but wear my gloves, so no scratching.

take it off and leave it at home. I don’t wear mine if I know i’ll be lifting, but typically I leave it on for cardio or lighter workouts.

I don’t wear my ring if I’m going to work out or do anything that might scratch it. I normally remember to trade it out with my Enso silicone one and leave my engagement ring at home. But if you go to the gym straight after work or something that might be harder. You could do a necklace, or maybe store it in the coin part of your wallet.

I wear it.

Safest place for it and over time it will get scratched anyway.

I take mine off and leave it in the car or put it in my purse with my coins if I haven’t been home to leave it there. I take off my watch/necklace too and only keep my fitbit on.

I also have a silicone band to wear if I want to but I typically go without entirely.

My ring comes off the second I step through my house door. But on days that I go straight to the gym from work, I usually put it in a little macaroon case i bought off amazon! I then put it in a little zipper in my gym bag.

I would never wear a ring to lift.  I can’t imagine it not scratching it, but more than that, I’d hate to risk hurt my fingers. I’d leave it at home, or if I wasn’t going home, in my bag/car/purse.

avprobeauty :  i swap my rings out for a silicon band (i have an enso). it comes with a little zipper pouch which i’ve attached to my water bottle. i pop my rings into the pouch and then have them with me at all times. when i’m done, i switch my silicon band back out for my rings. i wouldn’t ever attach them to a necklace as i’ve had necklaces break at the gym (not with my rings, but just in general) and i have to remove my necklace for any front rack lifts anyway (clean and jerk, front squatting, pressing, etc).

MeandYou :  this is TERRIBLE advice. forget about scratching the ring, it’s VERY DANGEROUS to wear a metal band while lifting weights – just google “ring avulsion” if you need to know why.

avprobeauty :  bee, it’s not about hurting your finger as in “owies” – it’s about serious damage you can do to it if a bar catches it. you can literally rip all the skin off your finger, or something can smash the metal band and cut off circulation, etc. you can literally LOSE A FINGER. take off your ring!!!

avprobeauty :  You can’t lose it if you put it in the exact same spot everytime you take it off. For me, I have a jewlery box. I only put my ring in that. No ring dishes, etc. Only the jewlery box.

Leave your rings at home on gym days.

I leave mine at home typically on my ring stand. If I can’t make it home, I leave it in a film case inside my gym bag (that I carry with me, not in my locker).
