I have had 2 c-sections and I did not experience anything like that.  When is your next follow up appointment ?  I would definitely ask about it.  Maybe something didn’t heal up right ??

That was my next question if the baby had started progressing down.  You may still be healing, especially if you were in labor long.  With my second he started progressing down and it took me a lot longer to heal then with my first.

@Cady:  I had a c-section after a very long labor, and I didn’t have the problem you’re having. But everyone’s different. I second talking to your doctor.

@Cady:  Sorry I remembered something else. I was incredibly sensitive (especially just above the pubic area obviously) and therefore very tense when we began having sex. So we had to have a long time of massaging and cuddling before I was even relaxed enough for foreplay (which was really frustrating because I was used to pretty well jumping on him). So… are you tense, and if so, perhaps try going slower? (But still talk to your doctor)

I’ve never given birth, so this might not be helpful…. But, my Fiance and I were in a long distance relationship for a long long time. We’d go 6 to 8 weeks between seeing each other, and the first two or three times we had sex when we were together again were hard, every time!! He’s pretty big and proportionately I’m a lot smaller, and I always felt like I “shrunk” in between visits. Almost like a virgin feeling, lots of lube and foreplay was necessary!! We don’t have that problem now that we live together, obviously 🙂

Maybe it’s not so much your cesarean, but just not having sex for 8 weeks? Either way, never hurts to ask your doctor! 🙂

I had a c-section and we wewre having normal sex again after 4 weeks. I also had a long progressive labour before the section, and still didn’t have any pain. If it isn’t because you’re tense, I would definetly have the doctor check things out.

@Cady:  i experienced that. it took a long time for me. >3 months and was still also painful for a while. i think it had to do with dryness and hormonal stuff a lot, esp. when i was bfeeding. good luck. i feel ur pain.

@Cady:  I had a vaginal delivery that was quite quick, but the first few times we had sex after were really difficult.  We’ve always had a little issue with me being small, but it was defiantly exacerbated by me stressing out about it post baby.  I have heard that nursing( if you are) and hormonal changes can make you dryer than normal.

It could very well be Vaginismus.  Google it.  I’ve heard it can occur after pregnancy.  It sucks, but it is not a disease or anything and with patience and practice (and RELAXATION) you’ll be back to normal eventually.
