Hello! I gave gifts/little tokens for everyone who played a part on our wedding. It really is up to you as there is no rule about this, but it will be nice to give them something for their role on your wedding.

I don’t think it’s really necessary to give the readers a gift, they will be invited to the rehearsal dinner if you’re having one, so thats a nice gesture too… I always figured you gave your bridal party gifts because of the money they are spending to be in your wedding, eg buying a dress, shoes, renting suits, etc… whereas the readers really don’t have any expenses, but thats just kind of how I see it, so the gift is like an appreciation for what they’ve done for you.. a reading is an honour, but I dont think it requires a gift?

I was a reader in a wedding several months ago and the bride bought me and the other reader a small gift (a yankee candle) and gave it to us at the rehearsal dinner when she gave gifts to members of the wedding party. We didn’t get as much of a present as the bridesmaids, but I was touched that she thought of us. I plan on buying a present for my readers as well.

Thats a nice idea! I didnt think it would be necessary, but now that you have mentioned it is a lovely idea! And note to self – remember to invite them to the rehersal 🙂

We’re getting our readers gifts, but just something small (probably under $25).

We gave our readers gift certificates to restaurants. It wasn’t as nice as the wedding party gifts, but it was a way to say thanks for agreeing to do this.
