I stopped taking my pills on August 31st and got my BFP at the start of November.  Im measuring 5 days ahead, which would put my date of conception at the end of October.  So for us, it happened quickly.  I was on BCP (Yaz) for years prior to TTC.  We were actively trying, but I didnt chart, etc.  We kinda just went with the flow.  The average is 6-12 months though,

I went off BC on Halloween. I didn’t get a period until Dec 19. I got a positive test in early Feb, 7 weeks after my last period. Since my cycles are so irregular when not on BC, I had no idea when I actually conceived. My doctor still counts from my last period, which would make me almost 24 weeks. However, I have had three U/S which consistently show the baby to be about 5 days behind that, so I will be 23 weeks tomorrow. So, I conceived on my second cycle post-BC, on or around day 19 of that cycle. My first cycle lasted 7 weeks, so even though it was 2 cycles, it was over a 3 month period.

I stopped BC in November 2009, got a period Dec. 2009. I didn’t get a BFP til December 2010. We were TTC, but it didn’t work. The ONE month we try to prevent (I charted) I got my BFP. Ironic!

Just know that on the poll, you are going to get a lot of people who answer 0-4, but you won’t see as many people on the longer months, because those people are still trying. I think that was brought up on a poll that was done a few months ago… the people who got pregnant right away all responded, but the ones who weren’t pregnant yet couldn’t respond because they don’t know how long it is going to take them.

It’s so scary to go off birth control because you could be one that gets pregnant the first or second month. Or you might not get pregnant right away… it’s one of those things that there is no way of knowing!!!!!! Good luck!

We got pregnant our first month trying, but I had been off the pill and just charting for about a year before that.  🙂

The first time I got pregnant, we were actively TTC and got pregnant on the second month after stopping birth control. I miscarried, and got pregnant again the month that the doctor said we were allowed to start TTC again. Now I’m 33 weeks!

We didn’t get pregnant until month 8. I had been on the pill for 11 years and started trying in September of 2010. I found out I was pregnant May 1st of 2011, and headed in for a D&E tomorrow b/c there isn’t a fetal heartbeat anymore. So off to trying again!

Edit: I was off the pill since June of 2010, so I think my body trying to regulate itself was a big issue for us TTC.
