Our invitations came in today, there is no inner envelope to write out all of the names on and a few of FI’s sisters have 4 & 5 kids. Should I write all of the kids names on the front of the main envelope? There is just one small line on the RSVP’s so they wont all fit there either. What’s the best way to go about this? I’m definitely not buying more envelopes 🙂 This is a small, family only wedding if that matters. Thanks!

@cupcakeFL: Are you inviting the whole family? If so I’d go with addressing it to the family eg “Mr. & Mrs. Taylor & Family” on the outside. You’re meant to list the children on the inside though, but I doubt it matters!

We didn’t have inner envelopes and we wrote Mr. and Mrs. Smith if only the adults were invited or we wrote The Smith Family if the whole family was invited.

I didn’t have inner envelopes and addressed mine to families like this:
Mr. and Mrs. John Doe
Susie and Timmy
Street address, etc
I only had one line for the RSVP and it said Name(s) __________________ and below that the lines for accept or decline, but I made sure there was plenty of open space above the “Name(s)” line so that multiple names could be written. A lot of people also wrote the number of guests coming on the little line next to accept (instead of just putting a checkmark), which was nice.
