@the_newlymintedmrs-s17:  I assume if there was cause for conern they would have contacted you already. Typically no news is good news, but if you are wondering I would call and ask anyway.

That’s strange.  How far along are you?

What was the reason fo the u/s? When I’ve had them done, they were part of a course of investigation/diagnostics, so I already had a follow-up appointment scheduled with my doctor to discuss results (good, bad, or inconclusive).

@the_newlymintedmrs-s17:  Do you have a follow-up appointment already set with your Gyn? If so, your doc will probably wait to discuss your results with you then. If not, I would call and ask. Assuming that no news is good news would probably not serve you well in this situation.

FWIW, I’m sorry you are having to go down this road. It’s a really tough one.

I hate to be that person, but depending on where you live the doctor/nurse/whoever may not be legally able to give any results over the phone, be them good, bad or all-is-well. I can’t count how many times I’ve had tests done, the doctor’s office has called me to come in, and all they tell me is that everything came back normal- yea thanks for wasting my time- then again it’s not their fault it’s the law.

Some places will say if they don’t call in X weeks it is becaues there is no need to discuss the results, meaning all is well.

Just make a follow up appointment.

If there was a problem they would have called quickly. The fact that it’s been this long without a call probably means everything is fine 🙂

I would phone to get the results.

I never assume “no news is good news” for anything anymore. Sometimes papers accidentally get filed away that shouldn’t have.

My mom’s friend never received her pap test results and assumed no news was good news, it was later found that her results actually showed precancerous cells that could have been dealt with- she ended up dying from cancer.

I never got my MRI results for something a few years ago. When I went into the doctor to get a vaccination 9 months later the nurse practitioner was like: “ohh… did anyone ever go over your results with you?”. And no, they hadn’t. I had to have another MRI to follow up with what may have been something serious. It was nothing, and I was totally fine.

Typically no new is good new with doctors (in my experience), but you can just call and check to be sure.

I had a bunch of bloodwork done for my pregnancy and they never called with results.  She followed up with it at my next appointment.

For that, I think they would have called though.  Do you have a follow up appointment?  If not, I would definitely call.

I would give a call just to confirm. I’ve been trying for 10 months with one MC earlier this year. There is nothing wrong as far as anything that an ultrasound would pick up, I’ve had several. Now I’m focusing on hormonal imbalance/thyroid issues. We haven’t had a sperm analysis done yet but that’s something that might happen soon. If we aren’t pregnant by April then I will ask him to have it done after the wedding. Good luck to you, I hope you get your BFP soon!

@RedPandas:  I agree. The way the health system is operating these days, you ALWAYS have to be your own advocate for your health, because no one else will! I have had many pelvic ultrasounds for a problematic cyst and my gyno NEVER went over the results with me on any of them. I had to demand that I recieve my reports (long after I signed for them) and pick a different gyno to get a second opinion. Fortunetly, every thing was ok and they ruled out any fertility or other problems, but it coule have gotten really ugly.

Anyway, I would definetly be calling them about your results. And if you don’t get anywhere- get your report and get a second opinion! Good luck 🙂

I had this done and at the time of testing my doc told me that they will ONLY call if something is wrong. And they didn’t call. Though at the same time when I was to wait for their call, my phone died completely and I had no way to be contacted. But if they had called, they always leave a msg to call the clinic back. Once I got my phone fixed, I had no VMs.
