I love most pickups.  I love alot of things that others dislike, but I don’t care, if I love my dress that is all that counts.

Personally, I LOVE that dress.  It is unique and stunning.  As long as you love it, that is all that really counts.

If you love it don’t let a silly thread make you second guess yourself. Remember the old saying Different Strokes for Different Folks.

The dress you posted in stunning!

These pickups are more subtle than I think the bees were refering to. I too hate pickups but this isn’t bad at all cause the dress has shape & looks modern & flattering.

THIS is what I hate when I think of pickups (it’s messy & haphazard):

I think your dress is beautiful. I think that your dress should match your taste. Personally, I did not want a dress with pick ups because I knew it would drive me nuts all night trying to smooth it. I also don’t like a lot of sparkle and beading so I picked an organza dress with lace detail. Some folks hate lace (grandma’s doily or something). Just because I wouldn’t pick your dress, doesn’t mean you should pick mine. Variety is the spice of life so…rock those pick-ups!

I dislike pickups.  I think they look like the dress was made to long, so its been taked up to make it work.

THAT SAID, just because I don’t like pickups, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t like them.  Everyone has their own taste and style.  I personally LOVE the Vera Wang White collection dress that others refer to as either vjayjays or rolls of toilet paper.  I don’t care, to me it is gorgeous, and I am still sad it isn’t sold in Australia. (let it go FIRIE cmon, haha)

If you love it hunni, rock it out.  Don’t worry about others opinions.  I am sure you will look stunning!!

Pretty dress!

I dislike the all-over pick-ups that make the back of the dress look like a poofy down comforter; I think they disguise the shape of the dress.  I don’t mind ones that are used to *add* shape to the dress, which I think yours do.

I dislike pickups. But I love dresses with sleeves. Lots of brides hate sleeves, but so what? I love them and I want my dress to reflect what I love. If you love your dress don’t let other people’s opinions make you second guess. It would be such a boring world if we all liked the exact same thing.

Don’t worry about your pickups! If you like them, then that’s all that matters. There will always be something that someone won’t like (ballgown, lace, beads, corset, sash, etc. etc.), and you shouldn’t get hung-up on that. You’re the only one who has to wear the dress, and as long as you love it and feel great in it, then don’t let anyone’s bad feelings about pickups make you feel self-consicous. 🙂

@hobbitsvselves: I second this!

Oddly enough, a PP said she doesn’t like messy-looking pickups, but personally, I dislike the ones that are very orderly and look like a comforter to me. To each their own, completely. And remember that most people who will see you in whatever you choose are not hanging out on wedding boards and looking at dresses online, we aren’t even your real audience!

I, too, am not usually a fan of pickups. HOWEVER, yours are lovely! Very soft and romantic! I love the shape of your dress!

IMO pickups look outdated. But I have seen a select few dresses where it looks lovely. The main thing to remember is if you love your dress and it’s the one you picked, that’s all that matters.
