Many brides have a relative officiate. Just meet with the pastor and explain that you would like your Uncle to conduct the ceremony. I am sure he will be understanding. Perhaps you could suggest that the local pastor welcome everyone then your Uncle can take over.

Great idea. I agree that you should talk to your cousin before your uncle. Hey maybe they could co-officiate, is that even a word?

@shugalicious:  I think a better solution would be for the both of them to officiate the wedding.  Let the pastor play a part-it would be rude to totally exclude him and then ask to use the church.  Frame it that you want your cousin to be included instead of the pastor to be excluded.   That is my suggestion.

@nickie362:

I agree with the post above let both of them be involved even if your cousin does the most so that no one feels hurt or left out

@shugalicious:  Hello Shuga you have got a dilemma and I know its hard because you do not want to hurt any feelings. If you want your uncle to do it then it should be him. It is your day. I know you do not want to cause riffs and you do want to use the church. Your cousin can lead prayer for the reception dinner or even deliver an opening prayer and benediction at the wedding. I hope you are able to get what you want and that your day is wonderful Smile.

Good luck!
