Hi Sarah,

Usually if you look “outside the box” you may find something under 2K,  like a historical place, or a museum, someplace that is not advertised as doing weddings, although if you are happy with the places you are looking for and they are in your price range that is great!  Send me a PM if you want some help!  🙂 Rhonda

You might also consider asking the venues what there off season prices are. You can save a lot of money that way too.

I was having a bonfire with friend at Golden Gardens last year, and they were having a wedding in the bathouse. When we got engaged, that was one of the first places that I thought about! I think that the Golden Gardens Bathhouse (which I believe is under 1k) is a great choice. It has wooden beams, brick walls, and a short distance to the water. There’s a green area just to the side for an out-side ceremony too. In the end, we decided to go with a venue that also provides catering.

I even scoped out some weddings there, so I can look at the pictures – don’t you love them?

Golden Gardens is beautiful…

However, keep in mind they have a rental minimums

1.) 8 hours on the weekend at 150/hr +50/hr for mandatory security staff

2.) If you want to have the ceremony there it’s an extra 200

3.) Must end by 11pm (meaning completely cleaned up and inspected)

4.) If you want to set up the day before you need to rent a 4-8 hour time block along with security staff.

5) There are little fees that add up like permiting fees and application fees

For what I would like, Golden Gardens is SUPER beautiful, but out of my budget. When I called, they quoted like 3,500-4,000. I can rent a beach house that hosts weddings for a week….
