I have a RHR cushion cut ring and the stone itself is a rounded square. Not sure is all or most cuchion cuts were this way. Have you looked at an Ascher cut? You might like that.

Hmm, not sure if that exists.  I felt the same way and it was part of why I got double prongs– I felt like they cradle the cushion perfectly while not making it look too square or round.

I think maybe you should see a jeweler and ask them to show you cushions with all different length to height ratios. Mine is more of a rectangular cushion because I don’t like when cushions are mistaken for a round- I wanted a distinct cushion! I don’t think the prongs make such a difference once you find the height to length ratio you want. Here’s mine.

I think the v prongs would be hard to do, as cushions dont have cut corners like a princess.  Defintely ask a jeweler.  I have claw prongs and alternates between looking rounded and square I think.
