My cycle returned to normal immediately after stopping BC. I was on Yaz for 10 years prior. We weren’t TTC persey, but my second cycle off we got lucky the one time my husband didn’t pull out.

HopefulSim:  I went off BC in March (after more than a decade on). I had a 36 day cycle and did not O the first month, so all told it was 55 days until I O’d after BC.

Since then I’ve been fairly regular- cycle lengths 27-33 days with O anywhere between CD 15 and 19. I waited 3 months before TTC and honestly wish I had come off BC earlier, just to give my body a little more time to get back to normal.

After I took my last active pill, I started my period two days later and then got my positive pregnancy test twenty eight days after that!

We are TTC in October, and after reading some similar stories like this on here, I chose to stop BCP in May and chart to avoid until October.  I’m really glad I did that.  Even though my cycle lenghts have reverted to their normal length before BCP, I was having very, very short luteal phases in those first two months (like 7-9 days).  So even though I was ovulating right away, I couldn’t have gotten pregnant those first two months because of how short my luteal phases were.  I finally had a cycle with a normal length luteal phase (12 days) so everything should be working well by October.  I highly recommend quitting earlier and charting because even if your cycles are normal lengths and you are ovulating, other factors that may inhibit a pregnancy might still take some time to sort themselves out.  Charting can give you a good picture on what those things might be.

I ended my pill pack at the end of November after 11 years on BCP. We used condoms in December, and at the beginnign of January started TTC. I got pregnant immediately. Currenlty 30+2! We were very lucky that I regulated so quickly and I think the hormones helped me get pregnant faster than if we had waited a few months (I’ve read that it can make a difference, but don’t know how reliable the source was). I had a withdrawal bleed about a week after and things got back to normal pretty quickly. Good luck!!
