1. I am 22, Boyfriend or Best Friend is 26 and we have been together for over 2 years.

2. I started waiting for a proposal last June, when we moved in together (he asked my mother to move in with intentions to propose and her blessing that month.)  A proposal was going to come on a cruise vacation this past December, but a financial situation ate his ring fund… ๐Ÿ™ (I have told him over and over I don’t need a ring, but he insists.)

3. Age doesnt have anything to do with my wanting to get married soon, I just love him to pieces and want to have that full commitment with him.

1.  I am 27 & Mr. Foxxy is 24… 28 & 25 next month.  We’ve been together for a little over a year.

2.  I’ve been waiting for about 4 months or so.  He gave me a timeline of engagement by the end of May.  Hoping to have the wedding in the first half of 2012.  :o)

3.  I would say that my age is a small factor.. I always thought I’d be married by 30.  It’s not the main thing pushing the engagement/marriage though.  When Mr. Foxxy & I started dating, I knew within the first month that he was it for me… and he knew not too long afterwards… and we really didn’t see a need to drag out a long (pre-marital) relationship if we both knew already.  We kind of started talking about weddings/marriage super early because the whole reason we met is because we were the Maid/Matron of Honor & Bridesmaid or Best Man in our mutual friends’ wedding.  They had us meet like over a year before the wedding, though we didn’t start dating til like 6mo or so after we met.

1. How old are you and how long have you been with your SO?

I am 22 and he is 24. We have been together for 4.5 years.

2. When did you start waiting for a proposal?

Ummm I’ve known I wanted to marry him since about 4 months in, and really since the beginning we’ve talked marriage. At about 3 years in I guess I started “waiting”…I’m expecting a proposal this year for sure.

3. Did your age have anything to do with you wanting to get married soon?

No, seeing as we’re both pretty young. I would say the main factors in wanting to get married are that 1)we love each other, 2)we’ve already been together for 4.5 years and it will be 6 years together when we get married (we have an unofficial date right now), and 3)We’ve both graduated from college (which was something we wanted to do before getting married).

We’re both 22, been together almost 3 years, and I started officially waiting when we discussed marriage just prior to moving in together at the end of December. We agreed on a loose five-year timeline for marriage, and then he said that he wants it to be on the shorter end of that, and that he just wants us both to be secure in our jobs first so that we can afford a wedding (we agreed immediately that we will pay for it ourselves to avoid his mother holding money over our heads to try to control our wedding), and more importantly so that we don’t have to start out our married life with financial/employment troubles. So since I want to have a long-ish engagement (1.5 years, give or take), a proposal could happen as early as this year…and so that is how I am officially waiting.

Age doesn’t have anything to do with when I want to get married.

  1. I’ll be 20 on Valentine’s Day and SO will be turning 20 at the end of the month. We’ve been together for 2 years and 8 months.
  2. I’ve wanted to marry him ever since he said I love you, but I’ve been officially waiting since we moved in together in September.
  3. We won’t get married until we’re 22 during the summer between my undergrad and teacher’s college. I have always wanted to be married young, and I want a long engagement. In order for that to happen we’ll have to be engaged sometime this year or early next (:

1) We are both 27 and have been together for 6 1/2 years.

2) I think about the 4 year mark is when it hit me that I felt we were ready to be engaged and started wanting it to happen. When the 5 and 6 years marks rolled around, I have been getting very antsy and want him to just propose already. We knew a few months in that we wnated to get married eventually so now he just needs to get in gear.

3) I think age has a little bit to do with it since it’s been so long and we aren’t getting any younger. We want a family and I don’t want to be too much old and barely having the first child.

@jennab503: My parents got married at 21 so I always thought that I would get married that young too although it didn’t work out that way. Like  you, I always thought that everyone married young and stayed happy like my parents did.

1. I’m 22 and my SO is 28. We’ve been dating 10 months now.

2. Right after I knew he was it for me, I couldn’t stop hinting how I felt, and soon we both couldn’t stop talking about the future. I’d say I’ve been wating for about 4 months now.

3. Not at all! I had imagined a number in my head that would seem to be the perfet age to get married (about 25 or 26), but I completely threw that out the window when I knew he was the one, and age doesn’t matter at all to me, it’s just a number. Though I’ll be close enough to that number when I finally do get married! ๐Ÿ˜‰

1. How old are you and how long have you been with your SO?

I’m 21 and my Boyfriend or Best Friend is 22. We have been together for just over 2 and a half years.

2. When did you start waiting for a proposal?

I started waiting for a proposal since our 1st anniversary. (It wasn’t even a reality then because he wasn’t ready at that point. He is now. Hahaha!) I have known since I met him that he is the man I want to marry. We were together for a while in High School, and just keep getting back together, time after time.

3. Did your age have anything to do with you wanting to get married soon?

Not at all. It’s just as simple as knowing that I am with the man I want to marry and I am ready to do so. We are planning to have a two year engagement so we can save for the wedding.

@Shirinjoon: I am the same as you I think.. I am 29 and my boyfriend is 33, we have been together for 5 years. I want to get married because I am turning 30 soon and we’d like to start a family. That is why I am suddenly so antsy about it.. I guess I have only really been waiting properly for about 6 months- because we decided we would get married in 2011. Now every week that ticks by and he doesn’t do it, I feel like my life plan is all off kilter. Which I know, is ridiculous btw.. but I can’t help it..

1. How old are you and how long have you been with your SO?

We’re both 21 and have been together for 4.5 years.

2. When did you start waiting for a proposal?

I started waiting about a year and a half ago, after we started talking about getting married “someday.”  Everyone was asking us when we were getting married before we even started thinking about it, so it pushed us to have the conversation about whether or not that was something our relationship was moving towards.  We figured out that it was, but I was thinking in terms of how soon (1 or 2 years) he was thinking in terms of “someday.”  Luckily we’re on the same page now, and I know it will be in the “not cold months” of this year, so sometime between April & November. ๐Ÿ™‚

3. Did your age have anything to do with you wanting to get married soon?

Not really because we’re both still young, but I suppose in a way it does.  I would like to be engaged for at least 1.5 years, and married for 2 or 3 years to just enjoy the relationship before we start having kids, and I would ideally like to start having kids at 27/28.

1. How old are you and how long have you been with your SO?

I’m 26 (turning 27 in a week!) and my SO is 30. We first started dating in early 2007 but the timing was wrong. Now we’ve been together for nearly 3 years.

2. When did you start waiting for a proposal?

I’ve always known I wanted to marry him but I didn’t start to “wait” until this past summer.

3. Did your age have anything to do with you wanting to get married soon?

Probably in some ways, its not that I want to be married by a certian age, I just feel like I am ready to make that commitment, if I was younger I’m not sure I would feel the same way.

Im 23..SO is 31(in March)   Been together for 2.5 years.

Started to wait when he asked if I liked man made diamonds.  Since then, he hasnt talked seriously about it, but we joke about gettting married now and then.

My age is fine…Its him that I think that he might be thinking about…He said that he would prefer to have kids before he was 35…well thats news to me! :]  One thing is for sure that I know that I want to send the rest of my life with him and make a commitment to him, but Im not in any position to push him to pop the question. We’ve been living together for a little over 2 years and Im slightly getting the feeling that he’s too comfortable..ya know??
