Stuller is a setting manufacturer, it does not sell direct or sell stones (except as in a setting). Or moissanite. MoCo does carry Stuller (and Unique).

I have ordered both loose stones and set stones from MoCo (rings, studs, pendants) over many years. Jewelers around where I am have crazy mark up for moissanite AND do not seem to be as selective about what stones they will actually sell. MoCo looks at the stones they get from C&C (and others) and rejects those that are less than stellar.

If they have a setting you want I would order all from them. If they don’t I would set it locally, but keep in mind setting fees. Again, I have done both (or had someone non-local set stone in their own setting).

I can’t speak to H&A cushions or other stones from them.

As mentioned, I have had a few things from them over the years, but this is the only complete piece from them I have right now – three stone H&A moissanite in 18k yellow gold (stock setting with some modifications):

The wedding band is also from MoCo.

I have now purchased 2 rings from MoissaniteCo, and could not have been happier with the service. I’m in Canada too – so it’s going through customs – and still no issues. Here’s the answers to your questions:

1. MoissaniteCo. Yes, very happy with my 2 purchases

2. I bought 2 whole rings. I considered getting just a stone and having it set in another setting I liked, but there turned out to be an issue with the seller of the setting, so I decided to get the entire ring made for me by MoCo. They’re fantastic at custom work !!

3. Don’t know about H&A at all. I have Classic in one ring, and FB in another

4. Never bought other stones at MoCo – I do silversmithing and have bought other gems from other dealers. If you’re buying from other dealers make sure they’re trustworthy – especially if you’re spending a lot of money (a $10 Moissanite from eBay is ok, a $1000 Moissanite from eBay would make me nervous unless I knew the vendor).

This is the gorgeous rose gold antique ring MoCo made me. It has a 1ct FB Moissanite

when you compare my 1ct F coloured diamond with the FB stone, you can see that they’re almost identical – which really surprised me, as FB are supposed to be ‘almost colourless’ – so should show a bit more yellow than an ‘F’ diamond. I’ve found all MoCo stones are much whiter than I expected them to be

We purchased a custom rose gold solitaire from Mo Co and loved it. The price was good, the custom order was fulfilled quickly and after wearing it for a year it still looks great! I would totally recommend them.

summerfirefly :  Ah okay, I see what you mean now. Yes, I see your jeweler can order C&C from Stuller, but you still cannot get direct from Stuller yourself.

I’d order from MoCo. Very nice quality and they stand behind their work. Stiller doesn’t like prices on their site and they do so to leave pricing up to the individual jewelers. They can pad the coat as much or as little as they wish. That’s why the prices are varying so widely. As far as I know “hearts and arrows” is a phenomenon that generally occurs in ROUND cut stones. There is no H&A cushion cut (moissy or diamond). I may be wrong on that but I don’t recall having seen that designation on any cushion ever.

1. Did you purchase your moissanite from MoissaniteCo, Stuller, or somewhere else? Are you happy with that decision? We bought a loose stone from MoissyCo (H&A Moissy by MoissyCo).

2. Did you purchase your ring whole or as a loose stone and have it set by a local place? Which way would you recommend? We purchased the stone loose and are actually having a jeweler in NYC (about 4 hours away) set it, so the stone got shipped out.

3. Are H&A cushion cuts nonexistent? I saw a video from MoissaniteCo a year ago, but no other mention of it since. I really like the F1, I was just curious to see! I don’t believe you will be finding H&A Cushions.

4. Have you purchased any stones other than a moissanite from MoissaniteCo (ex. their sapphires) ? Were you happy with them?  N/A

He bought my e-ring and band as a set from moissaniteCo online. I’m extremely happy he went that route.

2. Did you purchase your ring whole or as a loose stone and have it set by a local place? Which way would you recommend?

He purchased the ring as a whole and it also came with the wedding band (get a matching band as a set for less money…makes sense to me!) I would absolutely recommend buying as a whole online – it comes all set and ready to go, without having to have ‘too many hands in the pot’ messing with the gem or ring.

3. Are H&A cushion cuts nonexistent? I saw a video from MoissaniteCo a year ago, but no other mention of it since. I really like the F1, I was just curious to see!

Mine’s not a cushion cut but it is an F1 – I LOVE my ring!

My e-ring and band were the first thing we have purchased – I’m not much of a jewlery wearing girl, but I LOVE wearing my ring 🙂

summerfirefly :

1. I purchased from MoissaniteCo

2. I purchased my ring whole.

3. No idea about H&A

4. I have not made any additional purchases.

I am very happy with my purchase and if I were you I would just buy the stone lose and work with your jewler on the rest of the ring.  Clearly the difference in price is their mark up.

summerfirefly :  yes, even if it’s a special order they will fix if there’s damage. I bought a special order rose gold ring – they won’t allow you to return because it’s special order, but they still stand behind their quality.
