Normally the flowers are secured by using pebbles or using fishing line attached to a weight, so your idea of the transparent beads should work well.

The key to many centerpiece ideas is to do a mockup. Buy a few flowers and one large vase and try it out.

I honestly don’t think you need to worry about continuity with the gerberas. They are so different from orchids.

We got fake orchids and they don’t float. They puff up real pretty and look great, but no floatage problems, especially not with the floating candles on top.

Try clear water pearls and place the orchids between them,the instant you pour water into the vase it’ll give that floating illusion. Save-on-crafts.com usually as a good deal on the water pearls.
