In our first meeting with the priest he asked most of the questions. Are you meeting with him to book your wedding or are you meeting with him to compare him to other priests? I guess the reason we ask so many questions with other vendors is because we want to compare them. But if you know you are going to chose that church then the priest usually tells you how it’s done. The first meeting for us was for him to get to know us as individuals and as a couple. We set the time and date and went forward from there.

Cost

Music: Do they provide an organist, do you have to bring in your own? Are there any restrictions on songs, etc.

Rehearsal timing

Do you need to get a letter of freedom from your home parish? What other paper work do you need and when do they need it by?

Pre Cana – Can you do it in your own parish, or do you have to do it in the diocese that you are getting married in

Does the church have any restrictions on photography, flowers, bubbles, etc.

Is there a church coordinator that you should be dealing with?

Good luck, it will be great.

I guess our priest told us what the cost were, signed us up for pre-cana, gave us church restrictions, etc. without even asking. Our church had a booklet with all of this information, guess we were lucky since we went in blindly lol

@roxy821: Same here.  The only questions we had were whether certain dates worked for our wedding and whether I needed to be confirmed.  Everything else, the church told us how it’s done.

@coffeegal85-Me too, but apparently not the church hehe. I have list on my computer for questions for every vendor and all of their answers. Good Luck!
