We spent the day celebrating with 250 of the best people in my life! Everything was flawless and it was the most wonderful day! Lots of DIY and love! We spent almost 15 hours wiring the succulents and putting together the bouquets, plus my mom and I made the veil, garter, ringbearer pillow, clutches for each girl, etc. I designed all the invites and paper products and my Dad’s girlfriend made the cake and the whole family pitched in on cake pop favors! We put in so much work on it together and that was half the fun! A long engagement (18 months) allowed us to spread out the DIY and work on everything at our own pace. I was in grad school fulltime and working part time and planning was the best distraction from that stress! The end result was a large, beautiful wedding that was expensive but a good value compared to some numbers I’ve seen on here (we spent 16k for a full open bar/buffet meal for 260). It was my dream day! The pic that doesn’t match is from our senior prom! 🙂

@MarcyG: you look beautiful. Everyone looks so happy for you. Your bouquet is gorgeous, what was in it?

@CatyLady: Thank you! The bouquet was vendela ivory roses (ordered wholesale from fifty flowers) and echevaria succulents in green/blue/purple from San Pedro Cactus on Etsy! You have to wire the succulents (they are sort of like cactus – no stems) in order to put them in a bouquet but they are still living and I just replanted them so I will get to “keep my bouquet” alive! 🙂 Took a long time but totally worth the effort, they are pretty expensive to get from a floral shop!

Looks like a beautiful day! I also married my high school sweetheart — I can tell you from four years into our marriage, it just keeps getting better with time :). Enjoy being newlyweds!
