I think your mom is right, depending on the kind of laminate (the high quality stuff is made from real wood).  I would think about going with ceramic tile for a bathroom.

I think she’s right but I’m not totally sure.  We are in a crap rental right now, which has sheet lino in the bathroom, which because its so old has molded and got yellow stains UNDERNEATH it, but you can see it through.  Its disgusting.

If I were you, and you’re looking for an easy fix in the bathroom, you could do the peel and stick tiles, or else (grout) tile it all.

She’s right. It will start to warp very quickly. I would go with ceramic tiles, not expensive and will hold up!

Cost-wise new vinyl would probably be the least expensive.  And it will be easy to install, too.  😉

Ok so I looked it up and I didn’t realize that there is a laminate tile that seems to be different from the laminate planks made to look like hardwood. I think you may be ok to use it but it would probably be best to ask someone at Home Depot/Lowe’s/Rona since they usually know the products best!

Great! Glad you’re excited, the wait can be a pain.

Yeah I’m pretty sure you can get the tiles that are moisture resistant. Some I think have the rubber bottoms too that are good for basements and things.
