Quick question – pay for a more substantial setting and smaller center stone, or pay for a more substantial diamond in a delicate setting? These options are the same price (also same shape, color, clarity) so what would you do?
Option A: 1.3 ct center stone, .2 ct setting*Not exact ring, but very close*
Option B: 1.03 ct center stone, .7 ct setting *Not exact ring, but very close*

Updated Option B’s photo to something more accurate

I like number 2 but I do tend to prefer rings with a bit more substance to them in regards to the band. Of course I have long fingers and stalk could up to 12mm before I hit my knuckle.

The second one by a mile! So much prettier and makes a bigger impact,IMO.

I prefer ring 2, but I think I like it because of the bigger band.

I would go with #2, just because I don’t think the difference between 1.3 carats and 1.03 would really look like that much. I think you would get more of an impact with the bigger setting in my opinion.

Love #1, I like thinner bands

….no surprise the majority voted for the biggest center stone!

Wow. I can’t even tell the difference, really. I’m surprised that people have such strong opinions about differences so small.
I’d buy whichever is cheaper, since they are basically the same.
