How early can I write thank you notes for my VIP (bridesmaids, officiant, photographer and for our parents hosting?) I would like to have them ready on the wedding day. When I write thank you notes, I take them seriously and I really like to take my time on them. I really dont want to rush them the week of the wedding. Especially with parents, grandparents and close friends I can sometimes write more than a page or two so I would like to start them early.
My wedding is in 13 days so I’m thinking I might write two sets of thank you notes to VIP. For example, I can thank my Maid/Matron of Honor for everything she has done up until now and then after the wedding I can send another note for the great help she was on the wedding day and the breakfast brunch she didnt have to throw for us. Does that sound ok?
Also, do I need to write a different note for each parent or can one note go to mom and dad?
Thank you so much Bees!

I did mine well in advance as well. I think I started making notes about what points I wanted to include for my parents/bridesmaids a couple months in advance… they were LENGTHY letters referring to the lifetime of support they’d provided in addition to their assistance in planning the wedding so I wanted to get them right.
FWIW I just did one thank you note that I’d written before, and thanked them in advance for thinking of me to throw the events that hadn’t happened yet, and how much I was looking forward to them, then just mentioned their help on and around the big day again in the note I wrote thanking them for the gifts.

@sheepandbear: By the end of the process I had thanked my girls so much ( engagement party thank yous, bridal shower thank yous, personal thank yous at the rehearsal dinner and wedding speech) that by the time I got to doing the official wedding thank cards it was a lot more brief as i had already said everything i could have said.

@SapphireSun: Perfect! That way I can still take my time with the letters and make them meaningful, but wont get stuck doing two of them. I’ll pour a cup of coffee and get started on them after my jog tonight. (I usually like to type them out first since its so much easier to edit and then I just hand write the final version. Thats my cheat for writing longer letters in pen lol.)

@sheepandbear: I do the same…. I like to organize my thoughts in a word processing document and then just copy out the final version so I don’t have to think/write at the same time 🙂
