I’m in the hospital. I went in for a non-stress test this morning with my midwife and although the baby is fine, my blood pressure was very high. 160/108. They tried for an hour or so to get it down, but were unsuccessful and decided to send me to labor and delivery for monitoring.
During my 1st 2 hours at the hospital my bp was all over the place and would not stabalize. At that point they decided to admit me for the night to do a 24 hour urine screen, although my midwife and ob both believe this will turn back no more information than they already have, because all of my other labs are perfect and do not point to pre-eclampsia, which is what they’re looking for. They said my situation is “very unique”.
I have had issues with chronic kidney stones and they are thinking that there might be something wrong with them that’s causing elevated bp. I am going to have an ultrasound of my kidneys to see what’s going on in there next.
They have prepped me that if my bp can not be stabalized, and they can not find a reason for the elevation, that they will be inducing me on Wednesday. I really did not want an induction, but at this point, all of my health care providers believe that an induction will be best for me and the baby. Now it’s just a matter of figuring out the issue and how long they are willing to let go. I’ve been told it will be no longer than 38 weeks. So it looks like my Junebug will be a May baby after all.
Wish me luck ladies!

Ugh, I’m sorry you’ve had such a rough go of it. Your son had better thank you someday haha! I was induced too, lots of lower back massage and a peaceful labor room helped tremendously.
I’m sure at this point you just want some relief. I’ll be sending good baby dust your way.
