I just had DD#2 3 days ago, so now I can contribute!

I was induced with pitocin at 39+3 for DD#1. I was in labor for 26 hours, and 2 of those hours were pushing. I had an epidural at about 5cm, and had a few 1st and 2nd degree tears and stitching. I was very very sore for at least a week after giving birth.

I was induced at 38 weeks with DD#2. They put Cervidil in at 8pm to ripen my cervix as I started at about 1.5cm dilated and 40% effaced. The Cervidil ended up putting me into labor, and they took it out at 5am rather than at 8am because I was having 7 contractions/minute. I had an epidural put in around 3am. The doctor broke my water at 8am to get things really moving, and Cervidil had gotten me to about 4-5cm and 90% effaced. I threw up at about 8:45am, and my nurse decided she should check my progress. I was complete in less than an hour! She let me labor down for about a half hour, and then decided to have me try a practice push. I did about half a practice push and the nurse told me to stop because the baby was coming out. Darling Husband (who works in the ER) threw on some gloves to help the nurse, and then the nurse told me to close my knees together and she and Darling Husband ran out and yelled for he doctor to come in. The nurse and Darling Husband delivered her head and her shoulders while the doctor tried to throw on a hair and shoe nets. She got there just in time to catch her. I never even pushed! I didn’t have any tears, and I feel great 3 days PP.
