Did anyone plan their wedding in a short amount of time and have it turn out nicely? We are considering moving up our date to something very soon and I wouldn’t have long to plan (We’re talking weeks, not months!) We have the basics: dress, rings, church, so I guess I am just wondering how it may have gone for anyone else that planned in a short amount of time. Thanks in advance for any stories and tips! 🙂

does it count that I had my wedding all planned out in a week or two? it was a few months from my engagement though … 😛

I think so! haha. We are planning a small wedding anyway, just family and close friends, so like 20-30 people, but I dont want to forget anything and be like omg I was just in such a rush! I want it to be perfect, and I am really not looking forward to planning, no matter how much time I have! haha I am ready to just get it over with and be married! Any advice?

including myself and my groom, I had 13 people. the trick is actually … NOT to rush it. you do NOT want to be making decisions when you’re stressed out because you will regret it later 🙂 slow down, take it easy, and just prioritize your items and move from one to another.
For me, it was pick a planner … okay now pick a location … okay, reception dinner location … okay now what else do you need? Ceremony script, dress, rings, what flowers … one after the other, one at a time 🙂 If you don’t look at what you need to do in ones, then you’re going to look at the big picture, see everything, and freak out lol
FYI, I had a Destination Wedding.

This is a week by week, day by day guide. We’re not engaged but we envisage a short engagement.

I want to just go to Vegas! haha. Doing it one step at a time makes sense, that will definately help! My mom is making my flowers, dress is hanging in my room, got his ring, have mine picked out, ceremony in my church, that I dont want to decorate, and reception probably at a restaurant in town, am I forgetting anything important? lol!

Ok I completely relate to you. I planned my wedding in 2 1/2 weeks. It started off as an elopement and soon we had 11 people we wanted there. This is all pretty much in the bag. Deep breaths and make lots of lists. The most important thing is you, the groom, the officiant, and the marriage license! Everything will fall into place the way it’s supposed to. And hey even if something’s not the way you planned…..laugh it off. I promise you that you don’t want to look back on this day and regret being stressed over the small stuff. You sound like you have it under control! Congrats and I hope you have the best and most happy day of your life! 🙂

We were planning on getting married next June, and switched it to this September (the date was about 6 weeks away when we planned it).
Granted, we’ve scraped the whole ceremony and we are having a courthouse ceremony, but I had to change all my venues, which was the only thing I had planned. We are having a reception (60+ people) the weekend after our honeymoon.
We are now 3 weeks away, so the past 3 weeks, I’ve managed to get my dress/his suit, flowers, photography, marriage license, etc.
I’ve also booked catering for the reception planned all decorations, and purchased most, and sent out invites.
It can be done!
