Seriously, quinceañeras and wedding dresses are designed and made by the same seamstress, the only difference is that when it’s a quinceañera dress they immediately thing it’s going to be poofy (and even that’s changing), as a seamstress I visited last week told me: “It’s your wedding day and you’re going to wear whatever you want”.

Seriously, people only call it cheap and tacky because you’re paying a quarter of the price a DB bride would for the same type of dress. I do have to agree with alot of the pp, materialwise they can sometimes be not up to par with higher end wedding dresses (lots more tulle and sequins than satin and crystals), but like I said, In My Humble Opinion they are much more of a bridal bargain than something from David’s Bridal, if thats the type of dress you are looking for. I am having my gown custom made in China, by Jasmine’s Bridal Shop. It’s a combination of a few quince gowns, but I changed the fabric, jeweling, and craftsmanship of the gown to “mature” it to more of a wedding dresses. When people ask, I tell them it’s Pnina Tornai or St. Pucchi inspired (they both make big, blingy, gaudy yet expensive as heck wedding dresses),  and then they fawn over it lol.

The only difference between quinceanera & bridal dresses is that quince dresses don’t have trains, but that’s ok, those can easily be added on. I doubt anyone at your wedding will say “she’s totally wearing a quinceanera dress.”

Go for it! 🙂
