My fieance propsed Saturday and I’m so happy. I need to see how he would feel about a rainbow theme wedding. I would really like some ideas to show him that won’t put him off. I would love it to be very elegant and tasteful.
I thought of the idea because my partner and I have a scrap book with different pictures of us and rainbows. When ever we see one we would take a photo on our phone and send to each other. Also it turned out when we first met our faviroute colour was the same purple. So thought i could have somthing with lilac in. Would be so greatful for ideas and inspiration. Thank you.
Some ideas I thought of let me know what you think.
Okay so they’re not bridesmaid dresses and it’s not quiet a rainbow but i love the idea of it being pastel colours and looking a bit like this

Love the idea of the shoes and buoquet being a rainbow but wouldnt’ know what colour to make they’re dresses. I’m not too fond of black.

I thought that i could have the end colour of the rainbow and have say a lilac bouqet and shoes and my fieance could have that colour in his suit. As his favrioute colour is also lilac.

Cake…?

With the flowers bieng different colours?
I’m not sure what to do about decoration do I make it rainbow them or keep it to lilac. I don’t want to over do it would like to keep it tasteful. Should the men keep to lilac or have a rainbow theme? Please help.
Many Thanks clarice

@Clarice: I like the idea of the different colored shoes and bouquets. Maybe the bridesmaids’ dresses could be a slate grey color?
As for decor, if you keep the table cloths neutral you could continue your different colored flower theme with each table having a different hue.
Here’s an idea board I found:

I love the idea of rainbows, but I like the bolder rainbow colors better. The pastels aren’t working for me, as I feel like they just blend together too much, and most girls don’t look great in pastels.
I love the photo of the shoes/bouquest in colors, but that would certainly call for a neutral colored bridesmaid dress. Have you thought about maybe a chocolate brown dress?

I think it could be a vary tasteful choice. Also one that a guy would enjoy as well… this picture of the food is just a refernce for the different colors you could have with your meal. 🙂

I love this idea! I agree with @KatNYC2011: about the slate grey dresses. The pastel ones could work too but only depending on the other decor. You wouldn’t want too much.
ETA And I think the men matching the bridesmaids woul be good too 🙂

I really like the second pic you posted of the shoes/boquets. I think the jewel tones look really good with the rainbow theme. Pastel colours can look way to easter like for me.

@Clarice: This is so pretty! I attended a rainbow wedding and it was very similiar to your bridesmaid dress picture, beautiful! The bride and groom were different races and it symbolized their joining, colors didn’t matter. I love the idea!
My original colors were pink, purple and silver and my Fiance’ voted no! really quickly, saying it was “too girlie.” I kept my pink and added chocolate and vanilla and he likes it now.
I think your fiance’ will be fine with it, you’ve done your homework. Good luck!
