Our engagement shoot was planned for a couple of days time and now it looks like it is going to rain all day!
Total first world problem but I’m just ranting.
We are traveling as our photographer is in our home town and the photos were going to be all outside and now it feels like such a waste that we are traveling in!
We can’t really travel back any other time before the wedding so we’re probably going to have to cancel altogether now. All that time stressing about finding an outfit for nothing!
Did anyone else have theirs canceled due to weather?

I would go ahead with it! If you have a good photographer they will be able to do beautiful rain photos ๐ We had terrible weather for our engagement photoshoot, they were at the beach and it very nearly rained and was dark and overcast and blowing an absolute gale but my photographer made it work! ๐

Rain can make for some gorgeous shots with a good photographer!

Can you find an inside spot to do them at? Make them more lifestyle and do them in a cafe or something?
If your photographer can protect his/her equipment, you could still do photos outside with clear umbrellas and the photos would still turn out good.

Our photographer initially asked us for 2 dates, one as a backup in case of bad weather. We were also traveling (only about 2 hours by car) and just made a weekend out of it, but the evening before our first date, the photographer suggested we cancel and move to the second date. It ended up being just fine the second date.
I know it’s hard with travel, but if you make an early decision and move to another date it could all work out for the best.

glitterweddingbee : I agree rain can be great. We knew it would be a miserable cloudy day anyway and we love that look so we weren’t even hoping for sun but the photographer doesn’t want to risk the equipment in the rain so they are the ones who want to cancel.

zzar45 : Oh that’s such a shame! Have you had a look around for any cool indoor places you could have your photos? Maybe at the first cafe or something you and SO went to could be cute ๐

Ugh that stinks that it’s your photog who wants to cancel. It rained during ours (and during our wedding…so lucky! ๐) but we still went for it and just used a big clear umbrella. I actually love them!

My trash the dress photos were taken under heavy rain, and they are amazing!! The rain makes all the colors pop out more!!
You should totally do them (if the photog is on board)
Just make sure that your mua (in case you are using one) use waterproof everything and that your hair will look good wet!
If you want an ideq you can check my past thread were I posted these pics
