We’re are about to bite the bullet and book our Tahiti honeymoon for Feb 2016. I’m just anxous about the rainy season. I’ve done lots of googling and most people seem to say it’s luck of the draw on what whether you’ll have. Some people say it’s just a little bit (30mins) of rain every so often – if that’s the case that’s fine!! But I just would hate to spend all that money to have overcast weather all the time.
I’m really after anyone who personally went in Feb, or even Jan or March. Did the rain/cloud cover affect your swimming and outdoors activities?

Hi there! I went on a 10 night cruise to Tahiti and it’s surrounding islands in January of 2014. It didn’t rain a drop!! I am a travel planner for a university and we offer the trip every year around this time – it really is the luck of the draw, but even the trip that went in 2013 only had maybe 2 half days of light rain on their entire trip. Plus, if you plan to be swimming or snorkeling, you’ll be wet anyways!!
It’s actually a nice time of year to go, as it’s considered their off season. Many of the local tour guides are available and willing to give discounts on their tours.
Let me know if you have any questions!

We were going to get married in Bora Bora next Feb, but I was not going to spend over 10k to chance it. The people I talked to who went said when it rains, it pours. And I checked the weather for the time we would have been there this past Feb and it seriously rained the whole month. We are instead getting married in Hawaii in May and honeymooning in Bora Bora.

Hmm that’s what I’m worried about. It sounds like often it’s fine, but when it’s bad it’s very bad. I’m wondering about the Maldives instead.
