I had my first race ever today! It was a 5K for Unicef to help out in Haiti…it wasnt well advertised except for on running websites so I had quite the competition…I ran it with my mom and we came in last place…but we had so much fun doing it it was definately worth it…and we donated to charity so its all good! I guess that was my workout for today 🙂

Hey, at least you can run a 5k! That is more than I can say. Congrats on the great workout for a good cause!

Congrats on a great race!! Finishing a race is an accomplishment – no matter where you finish!

haha! That reminds me of a 5-mile race I did and it was between me and a guy pushing his wheelchair. I kicked his butt on the uphills and he would go by yelling, “NO hands!” on the downhills. It felt like an episode of Seinfeld!
congrats to you for running it!

Good for you!! About a month ago I signed Fiance and myself up for one in NYC this morning but I ended up having surgery Thursday and couldn’t run (boo – I’d been training for the last few weeks!). I went out and cheered Fiance on though and had a great time (he ran it in under 25 min – MUUUCH better than I would have!!)

When I ran my first marathon, I got beat by:
A blind woman
A man without shoes
A 78 year old
A man with one prosthetic leg
I felt pretty bad watching them pass me, one by one. BUT at least I finished right? So I did better than anyone who didn’t even run!

Thanks ladies!! I feel pretty good about doing the race..I am SOOO not a runner. Teddy ran it in the top 8 and he doesnt even run usually…he is just naturally athletic. so annoying! But for me…finishing the race was quite the accomplishment 🙂

Finishing is such an accomplishment! In my first 5k, I was also beaten by a very, very old man with a crazy gait. It was a bummer, but I had to give him credit for being so quick!

I think it’s awesome that you went out there and ran it!

Our church band, in which I sing, did a 5K yesterday. I feel your pain… literally.

lol at least you finished! I’m pretty certain I’d never make it to the finish line!

Remember it was for charity and all that is important is that you did it and finished!! :o)
