ktb19 :  Have you had any changes in your diet lately? Sleep schedule? Extra stress? It is odd that it’s happening for the first time after 2 years! I have this sometimes, but usually it’s after a month of taking it a few hours later than I should and things getting messed up.

Yeah, this happened to me on a pill i used to be on. I’d been on it for over a year when the breakthrough bleeding began. At first it was just a bit of spotting a day or two before my inactive pills would begin. But each cycle, the spotting would start up a little earlier, until I was bleeding more days than not throughout each cycle! Heinous. I switched to another pill at that point with a higher dose of estrogen, and it solved the problem. It was called Altavara, fwiw.

I’d see if it happens again next cycle…and if so talk to your doctor.

I had the same thing all the time with BC. It started after I’d been on meds for a few years. It was annoying but the BC was still effective!

This has happened to me as well! I’ve been on BC pills for 11 years and the same pill for 5 years. Do you have any cysts? Sometimes a ruptured cyst may cause a little bleeding and cramps.

This happens to me every few months or so. I wouldn’t worry too much unless it starts happening consecutively or if the bleeding just doesn’t end.

That happened to me on the pill too. I would spot when I ovulated and then a few days before my period. My doc said it was nothing to be too concerned about, that I have really thin skin on my cervix so I bleed very easily and it’s more sensitive when my hormones fluctuate.
