@lovekiss: Yes, but there are safe sulfates like behentrimonium methosulfate, which is actually a surfactant, and is used as a detangler.

I use HairOne, which is Sally’s version of WEN. As far as drugstore brands, I use Organix, which you can find in Rite Aid and CVS. This is a sulfate-free line as well.

I also use Herbal Essences, Suave, VO5, Aussie Moist, etc. but I co-wash (wash without shampoo, just conditioner) often as my hair is kinky and very dry. I probably wash my hair once a week. I also found a great brand for curly/ethnic hair called SheaMoisture. LOVE IT!

Those of you who are concerned about build-up may want to work in chelating or clarifying your hair once a month or once every couple of months.

@bakerella:morocconoil is wonderful for moisturizing your scalp and hair at the same time. depending on what you’re used to buying, it may be a tad pricey (idk the exact price per bottle) but it really works and smells great!

@BlueSatinBows: I keep hearing/reading about moroccanoil!! I’m going to have to try it. I did an olive oil treatment this morning (soaked for half an hour) and my hair is lovely and shiny and soft, and my scalp feels better, but my hair looks a bit frizzy, definitely less defined curls than I normally have…

Phyto!!! And it’s hands down the best thing ever made. It somehow reversed my dead ends? How that’s possible, I don’t know. But, I didn’t cut it and it looks great!!!

Loreal Sulfate free shampoo…also Blonde John Freida shampoo on occasion. Really brings my highlights out:) Good on your hair. OH and purple shampoo inbetween color. Tones it and brightens the blonde for sure. My co workers ask “did you go blonder?” I say nope, just use clairol purple shampoo:)
