Do you know if your mom has this as well? I have the same thing, but my mom has it worse. The first time I went to the lady who waxes me, she could guess my heritage just based on my light coloring (red hair green eyes) and these dark little hairs in less-than-ideal places, making me think it’s kind of normal among particular groups. Full disclosure though, I also have high androgen (one of the indicators of PCOS). It’s not a bad idea to bring it up with your doctor but unless you experience other symptoms, s/he might not pursue testing.

Ha I ran to my doctor with the same concern. As soon as I hit 30 it was like I was sprouting hair from random AF places. I was told it comes with age, but def go see your doctor if you’re concerned about yours. The crazy part is the hair on my head isn’t getting much longer (I’ve been trying to grow it out for the wedding) but I know I pluck long hairs all over my body like every few days—it grows that fast. One of my close friends started getting laser treatment in areas cause she was tired of all the plucking. I’m not there yet.

I actually think this is really normal, the reality is women don’t tend to talk about it. I experienced the same hair growth as you in my mid-twenties and I hated it. I’ve had Laser Hair Removal but it has only been somewhat successful. Mostly I’ve just learnt to live with it and manage it day-to-day. I have a few friends with the same issue and none of us have PCOS.

I agree with above poster. It sounds like hormones. Hormonal contraceptive can raise your testosterone levels which can increase hair growth. I’ve just had the paraguard IUD inserted because I was fed up with the effects of synthetic hormones. I think you should go to your ob/gyn and discuss your contraceptive with them. Hairs are part of growing older but you are only 25 years old and black hairs coming out of your cheek does not sound normal imo.

It is something you should see your doctor about, but contrary to the advice of a pp, it is not an “asap” matter. Make an appointment.

This doesn’t strike me as odd at all. Tweezers are a girl’s best friend!
