I’ve heard that if you check out with one item off the registry anything you buy with it also shows up on the registry, so that could be why!

Yeah, if a guest goes and buys an item off your registry and then just an item for themselves, the additional items often shows up on your registry. I know it’s annoying, but it’s nothing to be concerned about. You can just delete it if it bugs you.

Maybe they saw both registries and didn’t want to make 2 trips.

I was thinking that perhaps they purchased it at Macy’s because the items were cheaper than at Bed Bath & Beyond? I know that folks can add purchased items to your registry if they buy something that doesn’t appear there so that others know it was purchased.

Has anyone bought anything yet?  If so, the other comments above could be true. If nothing has been purchased from your registry but random items are being added, then I would assume it’s Macy’s doing.  I’m not sure where, but I think I’ve seen other posts where bee’s were having the same issue.

Okay is the item being purchased?   Or is it just being added to the registry, as “1 requested, 0 purchased” ?

Miss Wizard wrote about Macy’s sketchy registry dealings too…. so it wouldn’t surprise me if the Macy’s registry lady was going on your BBB list and adding it at Macys!

Are the mystery items already purchased or there and available for guests to purchase? If the former, it’s possible that it’s a coincidence like PP say. But if it’s the latter, I do remember reading another post a while ago about a Macy’s consultant sending an email saying something along the lines of “So I see that you’ve registered for xxxx at BBB, but if you register for that same item at Macy’s you’ll get more reward dollars through us.”

It could be worth a mention to your consultant, but that is super creepy and a total violation.

@Miss Eagle:  @kate02121:  Good question. I hadn’t even thought of that, whether it’s marked just “purchased,” or also “requested.”

That happened to me, but the other way around.  We registered at Macys first, then bed bath and beyond.  The chic that walked around with us at bed bath and beyond took it upon herself to dupicate every item off the macys registery and added it to the bed bath and beyond one.

I had pantene shampoo placed on my registry lol like PP stated, anything else you purchase while paying for gifts off the registry show up.

@Vintage Garden Bride:  You need to talk to Macy’s, and I personally would file a complaint, and close the registry.  That is so weird, and you’re right – creepy.  They shouldn’t do this.  Seems to be a widespread practice.

Yes, and check that there isn’t another bride with your name and they’ve just changed the wrong registry.   Thats my issue right now.

Wouldn’t this result in you getting two of the same gift? That’s annoying…
